I’m sure this film was made with great care and love, BUT what it lacked most in my opinion was BREATH. Opera singers learn to control their breath in order to take ours. And I agree with the other less favorable reviews that the opening scene was a really bad example of lip-syncing, especially since I didn’t see Ms. Jolie breathe! Of course La Callas lived a glamorous life, but it seemed to me that the focus was more on the visuals in this film. This is a film that made me stop watching it until the end and I feel sorry for it. I too had high hopes for these two iconic ladies..
