When Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with presiding over one of the world’s most secret and ancient events, the election of a new pope, he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the foundations of the Catholic Church. The actions taken by Cardinal Lawrence and the other cardinals during the film’s conclave are true and accurate to the Catholic faith and centuries of tradition. After the pope’s death, his ring (the so-called fisherman’s ring) is removed and destroyed; this is to prevent it from being used to forge the papal seal on documents. The Vatican issues an official announcement that the throne of the Holy See (the governing body of the Catholic Church) is vacant. The papal apartment is sealed with a crimson ribbon and sealed with a papal wax seal. The College of Cardinals is housed in apartments (Domus Sanctae Marthae, Saint Martha’s House) where they can eat and sleep between votes. Finally, the windows and doors of the Sistine Chapel, where the actual elections take place and votes are cast, are darkened, barred and locked to preserve the secrecy of the conclave. It also shows the latest and most recent security measures in life, when the conclave to elect Pope Francis I was convened in the Sistine Chapel in 2013 against bugs and other electronic eavesdropping devices, all the servants of the conclave were given identity cards, because the conclave in which 2005 was elected in XVI. Pope Benedict, a reporter disguised as a servant, was discovered, all members of the College Cardinals were ordered to return their cell phones and other electronic devices, the Vatican’s Wi-Fi network was temporarily shut down, and wireless jamming devices were placed in the Sistine Chapel. Ayendi is said to be the first African Pope. . The Roman Catholic Church had three African popes: Victor the First (189-199 AD), Miltiades (also known as Melchiades, 311-314 AD) and Gelasius I (492-496 AD). Lawrence: Our faith is a living thing precisely because it goes hand in hand with doubt. If it were only without certainty and doubt, there would be no secrets. And therefore no faith is needed. I just came back from the theater after seeing "Conclave" a movie I was very excited about and thoroughly enjoyed. I was so blown away by the gorgeous cinematography, fantastic performances, great score and quality costumes and production design throughout most of the film that I was convinced this film had to be a 10/10. But then, unfortunately, the end came. I think the end of the movie is the most important part. What would you leave the audience with? What is your final message to them? Well, this movie is so contrived, confusing and absurd that any final statement becomes unclear and I left the theater with a bad taste in my mouth. The ending is so unrealistic that it threatens to destroy every frame of what came before. This is done just to make a statement about the church and shock the audience. Well, it doesn’t ruin the movie as a whole (not for me anyway), but unfortunately it does ruin an otherwise excellent movie.
