Plot
Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, The Girl with the Needle tells the story of Karolina (Vic Carmen Zonne), a young factory worker struggling to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dürholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency that helps mothers find adoptive families for their unwanted children. Caroline, who has nowhere else to turn, takes on the role of nurse. A strong bond develops between the two women, but Caroline’s world is shattered when she learns the shocking truth behind her work.
